Fuzzy Logix is celebrating winning the Teradata Epic award for Big Data Intelligence at the 2017 Teradata PARTNERS event. Fuzzy Logix was recognised by Teradata for its work with Gilead Sciences Inc, a research-based biopharmaceutical company in the area of Real World Evidence (RWE). In order to monitor the safety of its drug, Gilead and Fuzzy Logix established a robust and scalable capability to compute every possible adverse event rate in large databases. Fuzzy Logix created a procedure for computation of statistical parameters for detection of a safety signal that takes less than one hour.
Robertino Mera, Sr. Director, RWE Analysis in Drug Research, Gilead said: “Gilead can now efficiently compare cohorts of subjects exposed to different medications using a complex matching algorithm. This solution has resulted in substantial time savings, an increase in the number of safety signal evaluations, and a significant reduction in the number of false positive signals.”
In addition, Fuzzy Logix created a procedure for the matching of variable ratio using a propensity score for two cohorts in the context of a safety signal evaluation procedure, which executes in less than 10 minutes. These procedures represent an order of magnitude improvement in speed and performance on large data sets.
Munir Bondre, Chief Technology Officer at Fuzzy Logix, said: “To be recognised by Teradata as a winner in the Big Data Intelligence category is a great honour and is testament to the work we are doing at Fuzzy Logix in aligning efforts with Teradata to deliver outstanding business insight through analytics.”
Epic awards are presented to Teradata partners who have demonstrated effective use of one or more of Teradata’s platform technologies, including Teradata, Teradata Aster or any Teradata cloud offering. Winning solutions will clearly demonstrate:
– the use of new emerging data sources and compelling new analytics
– the provision of a unified, high-performance big data analytics system for an enterprise
– measurable return on investment to Teradata customers.
– delivery of valuable insight to lines of business and enable Teradata customers to make time sensitive decisions by analysing entire sets of relevant data
The firm also won the award in 2016 in the Enterprise Intelligence category, jointly with Tesco, for their work in optimizing supply chain using real time weather data.
